Land & Water Plant has put a hydraulic clamshell grab onto its JS380 long-reach excavator to enable Barhale Construction to dig shafts up to 25m deep from ground level at a site in Ipswich. Using the long-reach instead of craning a mini excavator into the hole has enabled Barhale to complete the job in half the scheduled time and at half the cost, the contractor says.
