Land & Water has successfully deployed specialist equipment for a major refurbishment of London’s Westminster Bridge.
The Bridge foundations required urgent attention due to scouring and erosion caused by the tidal River Thames. To prevent long-term damage, the foundations had to be enclosed with sheet piling below water and infilled with concrete. Land & Water used a long reach excavator in conjunction with a computerized digging system offering an on-screen image of the bucket and the target dig depth to create the level riverbed platform upon which the sheet piles were installed.
