| A massive clearance operation is now underway by Jackson Civil Engineering following the partial collapse of its rail tunnel at Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. The contractor, which was carrying out a £20m project on behalf of Tesco to construct a 320m long rail tunnel and prepare land for a new store on top, was putting in pre-cast concrete units when the collapse happened on Thursday night. Around 5,000 tonnes of rubble is lying on the line. Investigations were still underway as CJ went to press. |
