Land & Water Remediation has launched a waste management consultancy aimed at developers of brownfield sites on or near marine environments.
Changes to exemptions from the Waste Management Licensing Regulations mean developers of brownfield sites must carry out more detailed analysis of the waste likely to be generated by remediation and construction.
Land & Water promises to deliver an "appropriate testing and analysis strategy for each site"; this will give the developer "an informed understanding of its liabilities and opportunities, as well as accurate costings and a timetable of consenting processes to reduce risks of delay".
Land & Water is already providing this service to Hampstead Homes' £25m redevelopment of the former James and Stone Shipyard in Brightlingsea, Essex.
Here, the firm has designed a remediation strategy using soil washing technology to reduce the quantities of contaminated soils and generate clean stones and sand for use within the site enabling works. |
