Site Survey and Sampling

Full scale site investigations for pollution characterisation and undertaking Phase One Risk Assessments.

Sampling: In order to understand the risks caused by contamination under water and the most appropriate remediation strategy, we are able to undertake sediment, sludge and soil sampling using a specialist core sampler that can be operated from a boat linked to GPS for accurate positioning and location recording.

Surveys: An important element of determining the degree of contamination and scale of the problem is the assessment of the volume of material and spacial distribution of contaminants.

We are able to provide a comprehensive assessment of contamination through the use of bathymetric and topographic surveys to enable the volume of material to be determined.

Analysis: We are able to offer clients a full service in planning investigation and/or Quality Control analysis regimes as well as managing sample dispatch and results analysis. All Chemical and Physical analysis is undertaken using UKAS, MCERTS and  NAMAS accredited laboratories, in accordance with regulatory authority accepted criteria.

Treatability Studies: The choice of treatment technology and disposal/reuse option is a balance between cost and treatment efficiency and is best determined through treatability studies. All samples are subject to baseline testing to establish the untreated characteristics against which treatment results are compared. Bench scale trials are then undertaken on a variety of contaminated media using a number of potential treatment technologies to determine the most suitable and cost effective remediation design.
