Bank Protection

With the emphasis on sustainable and environmental solutions, Land & Water has developed numerous solutions to river and lake bank erosion.

Gabion revetment on the River Wey, Wisley Golf Club, Surrey

Gabion's provide an effective solution to high flow scenarios, incorporating long term bank protection with natural aesthetics.

Using planting wherever possible to stabilise banks, effective 'green' erosion schemes can be designed to incorporate almost every scenario.

Willow Spiling creates a unique live wall revetment

Bordering most UK rivers, Land & Water utilises Willow extensively to reverse river erosion and stabilise banks. Live Willow posts are inserted into the river bed and 2 metre long Willow 'whips' are woven between the posts. This provides the perfect environment to promote growth and naturally stabilises the river bank.
