{"id":292,"date":"2023-02-22T09:20:37","date_gmt":"2023-02-22T09:20:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.land-water.co.uk\/plant-hire\/?post_type=projects&#038;p=292"},"modified":"2023-03-29T09:36:05","modified_gmt":"2023-03-29T08:36:05","slug":"london-gateway-dredge-and-rock-armour","status":"publish","type":"projects","link":"https:\/\/www.land-water.co.uk\/plant-hire\/projects\/london-gateway-dredge-and-rock-armour\/","title":{"rendered":"London Gateway Dredge and Rock Armour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lw-color-dark-blue\"><strong>The UK\u2019s largest long reach excavator, with a maximum reach of 27m, was employed for this two phase project which also relied heavily on Land &amp; Water\u2019s high quality plant to help minimise the risks caused by working on temporary tidal platforms.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dredging International Ltd required the use of Land &amp; Water&#8217;s specialist equipment to complete temporary measures that had previously been put in place.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h3\">Project Delivery<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"h4\">Phase One<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"lw-list\">\n<li>Recovery of 115,000 tonnes of temporary rock armour revetment to facilitate the removal of a temporary sand berm (in phase two) originally constructed to support the quay wall construction<\/li>\n<li>The rock was stored for later use on the project\u2019s permanent revetment<\/li>\n<li>Two Land &amp; Water triple boom 25m reach excavators equipped with DGPS equipment ensured all rocks recovered and working areas adequately swept \u2013 with rock recovery extending to -6.5m LAT on the 1:3 slopes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"h4\">Phase Two<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"lw-list\">\n<li>Recovery of 1,000,000 tonnes of sand and gravel from the tidal berm<\/li>\n<li>Largest long reach excavator required to support the tidal and complex logistical project<\/li>\n<li>Sand and travel transported up to 2.5 miles by articulated dump truck and re-used in an integral business park construction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"h4\">Project Particulars<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"lw-list\">\n<li>The project was completed for Dredging International Ltd<\/li>\n<li>The works were completed January \u2013 December 2012<\/li>\n<li>Specialist marine works<\/li>\n<li>UK\u2019s largest long reach excavator (ZX850) reaching 17m (capable of 27.5m in different configuration)<\/li>\n<li>Two triple boom 25m reach excavators with DGPS equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dredging International Ltd required the use of Land &#038; Water\u2019s specialist equipment to complete a recent project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":294,"template":"","acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.4 -
