To kickstart 2019, Land & Water Plant Hire has introduced a new tug to its fleet - ‘Domino.’
Domino has been purchased to meet the ever-growing need for marine equipment which can transported via roads. Its shallow water draft and hydraulically adjustable prop design have already bolstered Land & Water Plant’s fleet.
The adjustable prop system allows the twin prop design to rise and fall at the skipper’s request, to suit the depth of the watercourse. The innovative piece of equipment can raise completely out of the water, eradicating the need to lift the vessel at any point throughout the works for removing debris from within props.
Feedback from operators and site agents prompted conversation with the manufacturer with regards to adaptions to the cab design, allowing easier access to the front of the vessel for the skipper. Land & Water Plant actively works directly with manufacturers, ensuring the team has the very best equipment for its wide range of clients and their requirements.
Since being purchased, Domino has supported the wider Land & Water Group working alongside one of Land & Water Services’ purpose-built narrow dredgers to assist with an erosion control project on the Wednesbury Canal on behalf of the Canal & River Trust. Domino supported multiple spot dredges and a series of Nicospan installations.
“We have historically been referred to as problem solvers, especially when it comes our plant hire division. We are home to the largest range of long reach excavators and we have the most comprehensive fleet of amphibious plant and road transportable marine equipment in the UK. This addition will only expand our offering further and we look forward to supporting clients with Domino in 2019.”
