Training & Learning

Investors in People & Teams

High-quality service, the latest technology and up-to-date solutions can only be achieved with a skilled and highly trained workforce. That’s why quality training is a cornerstone of the Land & Water way.

We run specialist training programmes alongside core skills training to develop our people. We even develop unique and bespoke courses to ensure we meet every need at every point in our team’s development.

360-degree training means we are fulfilling the potential of people at every stage in their career, enabling them to bring ideas, solutions and service excellence to every project:

  • Basic on-boarding, site and project-induction skills
  • Best practices: Identifying, developing and initiating
  • Innovation and creative solutions; unique problem solving
  • Team building and camaraderie

Land & Water's Flagship: Innovation, Inspiration & Results

We pride ourselves on our ability to think creatively; to bring new ideas and a fresh approach to projects. To achieve that, twice a year we all 'down tools' for company-wide meetings that bring everyone together for innovation ‘think tanks’.

This training investment (where everyone from site operatives to the CEO and Chairman attend) allows us to step away from the day-to-day and focus on:

  • Sharing best practices, learning and looking honestly at where we can improve
  • Practical sharing of changes in legislation, legal requirements and health-and-safety trends
  • Encouragement to bring new ideas, to remind teams of the company's vision and to share their strategies

"We are proud to be the only organisation in our sector (that we are aware of) that makes this level of commitment. Our training sessions include topics from mental health and other aspects of health and safety to best working practices and team games. There is nothing that we are afraid to discuss, talk about, improve or embrace."
