High-viscosity dredging

The key feature of high-viscosity dredging is that it enables us to move sediments as close to their 'insitu' density without the need to add water as a transport medium. Traditionally the pumps are loaded by an excavator, and the pipeline is laid directly to its end use.

The benefit of this process are:

• The sediment is easier to re-use immediately
• Enabling us to more effectively rebuild sensitive salt marshes and create wetland habitats
• Minimising the volume for transport and disposal
• Reducing the need for double handling with barges, dump trucks or lorries
